It was one of those perfect Parisian days—sunny, warm, but never too hot. I woke up feeling especially excited because today we were finally visiting the Musee de l’Orangerie, a place I had long dreamed of seeing.
With the weather on our side, we decided to stroll along The River Seine and slowly make our way to the museum. Walking beside the water, watching the city move at its own elegant pace, felt incredibly Parisian. Of course, I couldn’t resist stopping to capture a few moments along the way for my lovely followers on Instagram @sleepingbeautytravels so I could share the magic with you in real time.

Before we knew it, we had arrived. Tucked away in the western corner of the Tuileries Gardens, next to Place de la Concorde, the Musée de l’Orangerie is an intimate art gallery dedicated to Impressionist and Post-Impressionist masterpieces. It is most renowned for housing Claude Monet’s eight monumental Water Lilies murals—paintings created to be experienced as an immersive, almost meditative journey.
Standing inside the oval rooms, surrounded by Monet’s Water Lilies, was nothing short of breathtaking. The scale, the softness of the colours, and the way the light dances across the canvas made time feel as though it had completely slowed down. The paintings are delicate yet powerful—truly exquisite.
Here I am, standing in front of the iconic Water Lilies.

Beyond Monet, there were several other works that captured my attention and lingered in my thoughts long after we left, each adding another layer to the museum’s quiet beauty.

By the time we stepped back outside, the evening light had begun to settle over Paris. We ended the day with one final stop: the magnificent La tour Eiffel , glowing softly as the city transitioned into night. The perfect ending to a truly unforgettable day in Paris.
